So I've had SkyMiles with Delta for as long as Delta has had SkyMiles and have never been fortunate enough to actually USE them for a flight. Flying anywhere from Santa Barbara Airport is a bit more pricey - but SO much less headache than LAX. I figured that Delta just did not allow Award flights from here. Every time I would check, there were either no flights available OR they would want about a million miles! Well, that changed today. I was able to book a direct, round-trip from Santa Barbara to Salt Lake City, for $5.00! (some sort of tax or fee, of course!)
I know, you're thinking, "Why would she waste her miles on a trip to Utah!?" Aside from the teeth cleaning I so desperately need at my Dad's office, I get to hang out with my Mom and Dad, my brothers, my sister Amy and her family, and possibly also have time to see some old friends and extended family. Quite a trade-off for 25,000 miles.
Now, if I could only find a way to fly to Italy for $5.00. Hmmm.....
