In the last three days, I have had to summon up every ounce of my learned skills to deal with the deaths of two people very close to my heart.
Michael Serio passed away early Saturday morning due to multiple seizures. He just turned 32 last week. Michael and I have been friends for about 6 years. He was my fellow "silver fox" friend. He was also Italian, and loved my pasta sauce and lasagna.
My Uncle Greg passed away this morning. Greg was the uncle I could talk to about anything. Although I am saddened to lose him, it is a blessing that he was able to pass away peacefully, and is now in a place without the pains or illness that have plagued him.
The waves of tears come and go throughout my days and nights, and I do not know when it will subside. I have the support and strength of family and friends to help me through. The biggest help to me right now comes from, of all strange places, my career: being around happy children is most certainly the best medicine.
