Quick & painless - relatively speaking. I only had to lie there for about 20 minutes, my knee encompassed in a metal ring-shaped camera do-hickey (that thing the tech is holding in the photo), thankfully listening to my favorite rock station (KJEE) as cued in by the MRI tech. I only had to go into the "tube" up to about my ribcage. I'm not claustrophobic, but it was a pretty small hole to be stuck in - I feel sorry for the people who get stuck in there for full scans that take an hour and a half - yuck!
It's funny how much you think you're moving when you're trying NOT to move. There were a couple times where I almost felt those huge magnets trying to pull my leg this way or that. I know, I know, not possible; but I swear it made my leg muscle twitch a couple times... like when your eyelid does that weird twitchy thing?
Anyhow, all over and done with... on to MORE WAITING! The tech said it usually takes 3 days for the primary care doc to get the results from the MRI reader-guy, but my Dr.'s office said 48hrs when I spoke with them later this morning. Whatever - I'll just hope for this week :)
I DID, however, ask about seeing the scans myself, and was happily rewarded with a form to fill out so I can have a copy of the scan CD & the written report. (Not only am I REALLY curious to see the inside of my knee, but thought my kids would think it was super cool!) Naturally, if there are images that can be uploaded, I will post them for all of you to enjoy. I know you're waiting with bated breath, don't try to pretend you're not. ;)

I am glad it was relatively quick, and totally painless. I really wonder what is going on in there and hope you can download photos to fulfill my own curiosity....also I really want to see your bangs. (I guess I will have to wait until La Jolla.)
very interesting experience, I am sure...I wonder what the picture will look like. Hope when you talk to the doctor he can suggest a good course of action...........
Love you
