School Carnival

Every May, Kellogg School hosts a fundraising carnival for the upcoming 6th grade AstroCamp funds.  This year's theme was wild animals, so every student created some piece of art for their class booth.  Our booth was the Hockey Shoot - and we covered the background with penguins the children drew.  There are many booths, live music, performances by the 6th grade cheerleaders, and a rock climbing wall.  Most important of all though, is the Cake Walk.
Every year, I spend countless trips 'round and 'round that circle, hoping to win a cake.  Every year I fail... until this year!  On my 5th or 6th trip on that crazy rainbow of chalk squares, I finally won!  I had people cheering me on, walking the circle with me, running to hug me when my final competitor was called out on his color.  I chose this year's cake decorating contest winner - a jungle themed cake with green coconut grass, plastic animals, and broccoli trees. (Someone took a pic, so I'll try to get a copy.)
Third year's a charm!
