Today is Amanda and John's 3rd anniversary. I still remember the first day they met. I had taken Amanda to my friend Rob's party in San Francisco shortly after she'd moved back to California. John was Rob's neighbor. She thought he was SO old - I think he was 28 at the time. I really enjoyed being able to watch their relationship grow over the next few years.
The suspense did start to drive me crazy when I had to wait for John to "pop the question." John was originally going to ask my dad's permission over the Thanksgiving holiday. The only time he was able to get my dad alone was in the garage after the pheasant hunt. When my dad started taking the heads off the birds, John decided that maybe it wasn't the best time to ask for his blessing. It took about 4 months for John to finally call my dad and of course, my dad was more than happy to welcome John into our family.
On their bicycles and armed with burritos, Amanda and John rode to a local park one afternoon. John proposed, Amanda accepted, and luckily there was a passerby with a camera to capture the moment. (photo at top)
On July 17, 2005 at Spago in Palo Alto, Amanda & John were married by our Uncle Bill. It was a beautiful ceremony, and the food was fantastic. Lizzie made the cake, friends and family came from near and far, and then the new couple set out to honeymoon on the island of Kauaii.
I was just able to visit John and Amanda and help them with some projects in their very first home. I am so excited for them, and still enjoy seeing them together - seeing their relationship continue to grow and change.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY AMANDA & JOHN!

Happy Anniversary indeed! I wish we were all together to celebrate....even though I am sure they are glad we aren't there to spoil whatever romantic time they may be having :)
