Friday Fun-day

Friday was the last day of school before Christmas Break, oops! I mean "Winter Recess."  At school we had Crazy Hair & Hat Day - the kids were simple to extreme in their craziness, and it was a bit distracting to attempt teaching fractions with spiky, multicolored top hats and dolphin tail hats in my line of sight!  I did get a kick out of the reactions to my Marilyn Monroe wig.  I've never been a blond before...  In the afternoon, we decorated Gingerbread Houses, oops!  I mean "Winter Houses."  The kids had a blast, and it was great to see their creativity.  

Friday evening, I was lucky enough to attend an office Christmas Party.  My friend Kate has been working at this company for nearly 10 years.  The bringing of a guest, other than employee's spouses, is not on the OK TO DO list.  This year though, one of the chief officers of this same company has his eldest son in my class.  Between the connections with Kate and Ken, I finally got an invite to the party.  Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, here I come!  

I figured it would be a nice dinner, and then we'd all go home.  Uh-unh.  Fantastic dinner, followed by a trivia game and prizes...I won an IPod Nano!  I don't know that I'll be invited back, seeing as I won the best prize and I don't even work there... but I hope I do!

I followed up the party with a, should have been quick but wasn't due to super thick fog along the coast, drive up to the Bay Area to hang out with Amanda & John.

I sure can't complain about a super-fun day to start of my CHRISTMAS VACATION!!!!
