Santa Barbara Saturday

Off to the YMCA early this morning for a little (hour) of cardio.  Home to shower, then a nice stroll down to the farmer's market. I'm about a mile away, I think, and it's a lovely walk.  Of course, walking home with upteen pounds of produce is a different story entirely.
Eat a little lunch - farmer's market veggies mixed in with leftover pasta from Thursday's outing...followed by a very juicy farmer's market orange.  Yum!
Then it's off to Butterfly Beach in Montecito.  My favorite beach to frequent, it's got a beautiful view of Santa Barbara Harbor and beaches, the lovely Biltmore Hotel across the way if you get hungry, and it's not overrun with boisterous children OR college kids.  I can go alone with a book or some culinary magazines, watch for dolphins, and relax.  (Of course, the far end of the beach is a bit more ruckus...)
Lucky for me, the last two times I have been at Butterfly alone, I have had the good fortune to run into some friends of mine.  Not only do we get to catch up, being that 2 of them live in the Bay Area, but then I also get to swim in the ocean.  I keep a strict rule about swimming in the ocean alone - NEVER DO IT!  At least have someone on shore to make sure you return from your swim.
No dolphins today, but the temperature of the air was warm, and the water was just cool enough to be refreshing without being too cold.
Home and showered again - dinner, followed by pizzelle for dessert, of course.  Now what?  I think dancing may be on the list...
